This is a pastel painting of Wast Water in The Lake District. I first painted in on dark grey Sennellier Card until I was happy with the strength of the colours, then I softly dragged paler blues and greys across the surface to simulate a rainy morning in the lakes.
The painting is mounted on spacers behind Museum glass to protect the delicacy of the artwork. Artist quality pastels are very lightfast and as permanent as oil paintings.
