Description
I loved Blackpool as a kid. My Dad worked on the railways so we had free passes and went to Blackpool for a week’s holiday for a few years. Seeing the tower appear on the horizon from the train window was so exciting. A visit to the circus to see Charlie Cairoli the famous clown and a trip up the tower, great. My Dad and my uncles would organize games on the beach. And on a night we went to a show, Morecombe and Wise or Mike and Bernie Winters were regular guests. And at night in the guest house my brother and I would have chocolate digestives and a glass of milk.
When I was eighteen I went back to Blackpool for 3 years with my friends. It was great but we had more than milk to drink and we were there the day England won The World Cup, what a night that was in Blackpool.
